  The news story that I found that three news sites had in common is the one-year anniversary of the war in Ukraine. The news sites were CNN, The New York Times, and NBC News. On CNN, the title of the news article was “It’s now one year since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began.” On The New York Times the title of the news article was, “We Will Be Victorious, ‘Zelensky says on War’s Anniversary ”. On NBC News, the title of the news article was, “Where Putin’s war stands a year after Russia invaded Ukraine.” There are several types of leads that can be found within the world of newswriting.   When you hear the two phrases News story and News release your brain probably wants to see them as the same. However, the two terms are in fact very different . These two terms tend to deal with two separate ways of presenting media. As a future media professional, I have made it my job to make sure that I can clearly differentiate between both. Now I would like to take the time to use this blog to explain to someone who is not in the journalism profession how to tell the difference between a news story and a news release.   A news story is a written or recorded article or interview that keeps the public informed on current events and current media.   This week I had the opportunity to interview one of my fellow classmates. For my interview, I picked questions to ask that I felt would allow me to get to know my classmate the best. The classmate in which I had the pleasure to interview was Ms. Bilyndria Lewis.
